The parish registers of St. Mary's, Boulton are somewhat complex inasmuch as they are combined at some periods with those of the contiguous parish of St. Michael and All Angels', Alvaston. This is almost certainly due to the fact that the two churches were served by the same vicar for long periods.
Shown below is a summary for guidance purposes only of the parish registers available at Matlock. Those who wish to search the registers for specific entries should contact the Record Office direct. The registers are in the gradual process of being copied on to microfilm. In the event of an expected record not being found in a Boulton Register, it may be worthwhile making a search of the Alvaston equivalent.
