Our church, dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin, is located in Boulton Lane, Alvaston, a suburb of the city of Derby, England. For information on services and current events at the church, please visit .

The church was founded by Robert Sacheverell of Hopwell (Sawley) in Derbyshire about the year 1150. Robert's daughter, Adelina, is thought to have married Arwin de Boulton and the couple came to live in the Manor of Boulton. Their son, named Peter, was probably given his name because of the association of Boulton St. Mary's with St. Peter's Church in Derby. The side chapel within the present church building is today still dedicated to St. Peter.
